For many people, the interior design of your home is one of the most important projects you undertake, and every now and then you perhaps feel like revamping certain aspects.

The doors in your home are one of the most important features of the design of your home. They are the entry point; the first noticeable feature, and with the right doors, you have the ability to transform the exterior and interior of your home.

In terms of your front door, there are so many options available so that you can complete the overall look of your home to match with the style you are going for. You may want a grand entrance, a homely first glance, a more modern look, or you may even want to match your front door to the rest of the outdoor or indoor décor.

At Don Valley, we offer a variety of options for all your door requirements; and in terms of your front door, we offer composite doors and uPVC doors in Sheffield, which are the most popular choices for most peoples’ homes.

Doors are also a popular choice for the back of the house, and can be used to create an elongated look for the living room, with an open, outdoor feel, whilst also allowing maximum natural light to enter, making for a much more comfortable feel in your home. Bi-fold doors are also a great option for you to enjoy your garden and extend the look of a conservatory.

So, which type of doors are for you? Here we take a look at what we have to offer…

Composite doors

Composite doors are the newest type of door which is used in homes and have been designed to counter all the problems which are experienced by other doors.

Composite doors

Composite doors have quickly become one of the most popular choices for a front door, as they have many benefits. Made from a combination of materials including wood, plastic, insulating foam and glass reinforced plastic. This means that the door is very sturdy, strong and secure; one of the most important features of a home front door.

Composite doors are also designed to withstand all weather conditions, as opposed to single material doors such as wooden doors, which are likely to be worn down more quickly over time and have the potential to warp in the damp and changing weathers.

Another benefit to composite doors is that they are a good thermal insulator as opposed to other door types, due to the insulating foam core. This means that you will reduce and drafts and unnecessary heat escaping through your front door, ultimately lowering your heating bills and keeping your home at a more consistent, comfortable temperature.

Our composite doors are available in a range of different colours and designs, so you can choose one which goes well with the exterior of your home and matches with the style you are looking for.

uPVC Doors

uPVC, short for unplasticised poly vinyl chloride, is one of the most popular materials commonly used for windows and doors, and has been a great choice for revamping a front door for years. What’s more, the reason they have been in such high demand is because they have so many benefits.

uPVC Doors

Firstly, there is no doubt that uPVC windows and doors improve the look of your home substantially and even add significant value to your home. If you plan on selling your home in the near future or would like to increase its value, this is a great way to do so.

uPVC doors are also one of the most decorative options for your front door. They come in many different shapes and sizes so you will likely have no problem in getting one which matches with your interior and fits properly.

Unlike traditional wooden doors, uPVC doors are much more durable and are stronger in changing weathers. They will not warp like wood, but are weatherproof and rigid. Another major advantage is that uPVC is an extremely strong material which is safe for a front door; with a steel core, uPVC is unlikely to be broken down or forced open.

Bi-Fold Doors

As well as offering an extensive range of front doors, here at Don Valley we also offer bi-fold doors, which are on-trend currently and are the perfect option to allow maximum light into a living room backing onto a garden, whilst also offering the privacy you need.

Not only are bi-fold doors suitable for perfecting a home, but they are also a great option for use in a business building, largely due to their solid construction and ease of use.

Bi-Fold Doors

One of the major advantages to bi-fold doors is that they are a highly attractive feature for any home, adding a look of sheer elegance and increasing the natural light available in the room. They are extremely slim line, meaning maximum view of outside, without compromising the strength and durability, Bi-fold doors are also low maintenance, so you do not have to worry about constant cleaning; all they will need is an every so often one over with some soapy water and an occasional oiling.

Bi-fold doors are also an extremely versatile option, with good insulation for those colder days and of course able to open up and let in the fresh air in summer months. They are a great way to extend the living room into your garden and create a summer vibe for barbeques and get-togethers.
